Hack of the Week No.109

Be so good they can't ignore you

This one goes out to all of the recent grads, those that have moved up at work or school and to all those that just need a bit of motivation today.

"Be so good they can't ignore you"

This motivational layout sign was created using models from these projects:

The font we used to simulate the v-carving on this layout is called:  Monotype Corsiva, Candara

Note - This hack was assembled in Aspire V8 for presentation purposes.  It could have been done in VCarve Pro V8 or VCarve Desktop.

Why not hack together your own layout mixing and matching models from other projects or from your own library!  For some great inspiration check out our  hacks page!

Texan Dreamers Plaque from James Patton

One of the great things about our CNC projects is that there are so many themes. On the other hand that makes it hard to know if you would ever have a need for particular ones.  As you will see from one of James Patton's latest project knowing that we had a particular theme available helped him out and the result is pretty great!

"An acquaintance of my wife asked if I’d carve a logo for her. You can see the drawing I had to work with."

James was given this image to work from.

"You can see the drawing I had to work with. Using pieces from the graduation day set, I think we got pretty close..."

We have to agree with James... it is pretty close... maybe even a bit better... ;)  Love that finish and the color really brings it all together. Nice work!

Thank you James for sharing this project with us!

Hack of the Week No.98

It's been one of those days... this hack seemed to be appropriate!  Now... where is that coffee!

This "A yawn is a silent scream for COFFEE!" sign was created using models from these projects:

The font we used to simulate the v-carving on this layout is call:  Corbel

Note - This hack was assembled in Aspire V8 for presentation purposes.  It could have been done in VCarve Pro V8 or VCarve Desktop.

Don Harding loved this hack so he took the time to actually make it... or his version of it.

This is a sneak peek, so for now, it just has a sealer on it and is waiting for some paint.  Don used his CAMaster Stinger and his Vectric Aspire software to create it.  Looks good so far and we can't wait to see the finished piece!

Finished sign!  Look'n good!
