Smell the Sea and Feel the Sky!

This week we will release the 3rd installment of the Under the Sea themed CNC projects.   We are excited to see how those of you who have dove into the projects will hack them together and what they will use them for!

Don Harding had sent us in some pictures of what he has done with the first 2 Under the Sea Projects.

This first piece is something Don hacked together using the Under the Sea No.1 and No.2 projects.  His VCarved quote really adds to the layout!

"If I could Live in the Sea What would I Like to Be?"

His next hack he decided to use 3 different projects.

Models from Under the Sea No.1, No.2 and the broken tiles for the Rose Tile No.1 project!

Close up of the starfish.

Close up of the crab.

What a great looking finished layout!

Don is also experimenting with small 6" x 6" tiles.

"6x6x.75 Just playing around. Gonna practice my Coloring on this."

What a great idea!! These would also look great a small piece of wall art in a cabin by the sea!

Thanks again Don for sharing your work with us.  Keep up the hacking!

It is always great to hear from users that are relatively new to CNC.  John has only had his CNC for a short time but he sure knows how to make our CNC projects look good!

"Probotix Nebula - used it a whole 2 months already.``

Looking at John`s work you'd think he had been using his machine and software for much longer then that.

John uses Aspire V8 and used it to create these layouts and even sorted out how to cross the wrenches.  Nice touch!

"Cut from pine - 5/4 x 6 - 2 2ft lengths glued together"
"This is the tool sign I was telling you about. It's ready to Vcarve"

John hacked together 2 of our projects to create this great shop sign (Pop`s Tool Shop No.1 and Dad`s Garage No.1).  Like he mentioned it is just waiting to be customized with a shop name or saying!

Thank you John for sharing these projects with us!

If you have a CNC you know there are 3 major steps in creating a great finished project:

  • Creating a good layout (we have you covered there)
  • Machining a great part (software and your machine have a big part to play in this step)
  • Finishing (this part is all you and the products you use)

Doug hacked together this great layout and took the time to put an amazing finish on it that makes it "shine"!

"I have Legacy Arty 58 Pro CNC that has a bed cutting size of 24" x 58" with a water cooled spindle. The plaque is 16" diameter
The finish is sprayed on ML Campbell Varnish/lacquer 3-coats.
The wood is Alder"

Doug used the Wine Bar No.1 project and hacked in the ribbon from the free Heart and Ribbon Getting Started project. Great work Doug... wow... that ribbon is smooth!!!!

Thank you Doug for sharing this project with us!
