Hack of the Week No.100 - WOW!

The inspiration for a Design & Make Project Hack can come from just about anywhere at just about anytime.

In this case it was a deer mount that we saw in a local "Fish & Game" building.  The look of a wood slab to create the mount instantly reminded us to the wood slab included in the Animal Tracks No.1 CNC Project.

If you are a huntsman or fisherman then you're going to be interested in this hack.  It may just be the perfect way to display your prize and create the conversation piece to set the perfect mood to retell your favorite hunting story.

This "Deer Mount" was created using models from these projects:

The font we used to simulate the v-carving on this layout is call:  Palation Linotype

Note - This hack was assembled in Aspire V8 for presentation purposes.  It could have been done in VCarve Pro V8 or VCarve Desktop.

VectorArt3D is a great source of single models to hack into your layouts and it's also a Vectric Company!

Models can be purchased from VectorArt3D as Vectric .V3Ms and work perfectly in VCarve Desktop, VCarve Pro V8 and Aspire.

Hard to believe this hack of the week is number 100!!!
WOW... and so many more to come!

Below is a great finished project by Don Harding showing how he finished the wood slab to look like the real thing!

"The wood is White Birch.
Black Walnut Stain on Bark.
Text was Times New Roman.
Matt Clear 2X Painters Choice
Rust-Oleum
Machined on the Legacy ARTY 58"

"Finished By Don Harding a Newbie."

Don, you might be new to finishing but your excitement for CNC is infexious!   Thanks again for sharing.
