What serious woodworker would go without an heirloom hand plane that has been passed down from a father, grandfather or picked at a local garage sale? What about a measuring tape that has been accused of measuring something wrong more then once... or was that you? Of course every shop has a standard flat head screw driver... beats using a butter knife to tighten that slot head screw.
